Role Overview
We are on the lookout for a highly skilled Documentation Manager to oversee our documentation processes and ensure the delivery of high-quality, accurate, and user-friendly content. In this strategic role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define documentation standards, streamline workflows, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance our documentation practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive documentation strategy that aligns with organizational goals and user needs
- Lead a team of technical writers, editors, and subject matter experts to produce high-quality documentation, including user manuals, API documents, and online help resources
- Establish documentation standards and best practices to ensure consistency, clarity, and usability across all materials
- Conduct regular audits of existing documentation to identify gaps and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to gather requirements and ensure that documentation is up-to-date with product features and changes
- Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing among team members and stakeholders
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing or documentation management, preferably in a technology-focused environment
- Proven track record of leading documentation teams and driving process improvements
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and documentation tools
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, or a related field
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
- Knowledge of user experience (UX) principles and their application in documentation
- Experience with structured authoring and XML documentation standards
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or Confluence
- Strong understanding of software development processes and ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage documentation
