Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corrosion Engineering Manager to lead our corrosion engineering team in delivering innovative solutions for our diverse portfolio of projects. This position plays a crucial role in establishing and maintaining corrosion prevention strategies, ensuring the integrity and longevity of our assets across various sectors.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of corrosion engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement comprehensive corrosion management plans, integrating best practices and industry standards.
- Conduct thorough assessments of corrosion risks and develop mitigation strategies tailored to project requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including materials science, design, and project management, to ensure corrosion considerations are integrated throughout project lifecycles.
- Oversee testing programs and analyze results to inform design decisions and material selections.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies to drive innovation in corrosion engineering practices.
- Prepare and present technical reports to stakeholders, clearly articulating findings and recommendations.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Corrosion Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in corrosion engineering, with a proven track record in managing teams and projects.
- In-depth knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, prevention methods, and relevant standards (e.g., NACE, ASTM).
- Experience conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Professional certifications, such as NACE Corrosion Specialist or equivalent.
- Experience with asset integrity management systems and reliability engineering.
- Familiarity with advanced coatings and cathodic protection systems.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in corrosion modeling software and predictive analysis tools.
- Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Familiarity with project management software and methodologies.
- Strong command of MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages for data analysis.
