Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Piping Engineering Manager to lead our piping design and engineering teams in delivering innovative, safe, and cost-effective solutions for complex projects. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of piping engineering, from initial design through to execution, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client specifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of piping engineers and designers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement piping design strategies that align with project objectives and client requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and approval of piping specifications, layouts, and detailed designs.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering departments, to ensure integrated project execution.
- Conduct regular reviews of engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with piping design and installation, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding piping engineering matters.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in piping engineering, with a proven track record in managing engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of piping design codes and standards, such as ASME, ANSI, and API.
- Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, PDMS, or similar).
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure.
- Experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or power generation industries.
- Familiarity with risk assessment techniques and safety management systems.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of design and analysis software related to piping systems.
- Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science as applied to piping design.
- Experience with stress analysis and simulation tools.
