Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Director of Facilities Maintenance to lead our facilities management strategy, ensuring optimal operational performance of our physical assets while fostering a culture of safety and excellence. This is a critical leadership role where you will oversee maintenance operations, implement best practices, and drive innovation in facility management processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive facilities maintenance strategy that aligns with organizational goals and enhances operational efficiency.
- Lead the maintenance team, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure high standards of work and adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to optimize maintenance operations while minimizing downtime.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs, utilizing asset management systems to track maintenance schedules and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify facility improvement opportunities and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies and methodologies to enhance maintenance efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or management, with a proven track record of leadership in a complex operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and fire safety protocols.
- Demonstrable experience in budget management, resource planning, and project management.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP).
- Experience with sustainability initiatives and energy management practices.
- Familiarity with compliance and safety regulations in facilities management.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in facilities management software and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies, including Agile or Lean principles.
- Working knowledge of building automation systems and energy management tools.
