Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Baseball Operations to lead our baseball operations team. This pivotal role will oversee all aspects of player development, analytics, and operational logistics, ensuring alignment with our organization's mission to foster on-field success and player growth. As a leader, you will collaborate closely with coaching staff, scouts, and front office personnel to implement innovative strategies that drive competitive advantage.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for baseball operations, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Oversee player development programs, including scouting, drafting, and training initiatives, to maximize player potential and performance.
- Utilize advanced analytics to inform decision-making related to player acquisition, development, and game strategy.
- Collaborate with coaches and management to optimize roster construction and in-game strategies.
- Manage the operational logistics of the baseball team, including travel, scheduling, and facility management.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including MLB officials, player agents, and community partners.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in baseball operations or related field, with a demonstrated track record of success in player development and team management.
- Strong knowledge of baseball analytics and performance metrics, with experience utilizing data to drive strategic decisions.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
Preferred:
- Experience in a managerial role within a professional sports organization.
- Advanced degree in sports management, analytics, or a related field.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and initiatives within tight timelines.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in data analytics tools and software (e.g., R, Python, SQL) to extract insights from player performance data.
- Familiarity with performance tracking technologies and player evaluation systems.
- Strong understanding of compliance with MLB regulations and policies.
