Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Basketball Operations to lead our basketball program. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of basketball operations, ensuring a seamless integration between coaching, player development, and administrative functions. You will work closely with the coaching staff, players, and management to cultivate a winning culture and optimize the performance of the basketball team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures that support the basketball program's strategic goals.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the basketball team, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and logistics.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to design and execute player development programs, focusing on skill enhancement and performance metrics.
- Oversee player recruitment and retention strategies, ensuring alignment with the program's vision and values.
- Serve as a liaison between the basketball program and other departments, including marketing, fundraising, and compliance.
- Analyze performance data and metrics to inform decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with all NCAA regulations and institutional policies.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in basketball operations or a related role, preferably at the collegiate or professional level.
- Strong understanding of NCAA regulations and compliance issues.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Experience in player development, scouting, or coaching.
- Master's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong network within the basketball community and experience with recruitment.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in data analysis and management tools to evaluate player performance and operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with basketball analytics software and performance tracking systems.
