We are seeking a motivated commercial payments professional to join the Corporate Payments Solutions team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a high-performing team of commercial payments industry thought leaders.

The Solutions Engineer is responsible for:

Contributing to the overall strategic, operational, and technical scope of new business opportunities with customers, prospects, and partners. Part business analyst, part technologist, part salesperson, the Solutions Engineer works closely with Sales Managers and Directors, Compliance, Product, Implementation Managers, Supplier Enablement, and Account/Relationship Managers to understand strategic business issues and then craft and communicate solution strategies. The Solutions Engineer will also be responsible for participating in strategic initiatives and supporting your fellow Solutions Consultants.

How you will make an impact:

  • Apply solid knowledge of existing CPS product/service capabilities and the competitive environment to identify and communicate solutions to unlock customer opportunities.

  • Serve as a functional and technical expert for products, tools, and services during sales engagements with prospective clients.

  • Define and implement scalable solutions that meet customer/partner needs, while driving profitable volume growth.

  • Support the analysis and evaluation of key market statistics and customer requirements.

  • Provide product expertise and consultative services to current and prospective clients, including the creation of customized product demos.

  • Use technical expertise and industry experience to support commercial teams throughout the customer lifecycle.

  • Evaluate business opportunities to optimize customer solutions.

  • Support new Product initiatives and rollouts.

  • Provide continuous feedback from the customer experience to shape new products and enhancements.

  • Communicate gaps in products and enhancements leading up to launches.

  • Assist in and enable training for new product/enhancement launches.

  • Collaborate with Marketing in packaging go-to-market resources.

  • Build and test integration capabilities to embed payment rails directly into the customer's processes.

  • Articulate the value proposition and ROI of WEX's solutions in clear and compelling terms.

  • Deliver engaging and informative platform demos.

  • A strong understanding of the competitive market and WEX's differentiators.

Experience you will bring:

  • 4+ years of experience in the Commercial Payments (B2B) space.

  • Solid understanding of Physical Card, Virtual Card, and ACH/EFT/Wire/Check payments applications in the commercial (B2B) space.

  • A strong foundation in technology, including API, SOAP, REST, and file/data transfer protocols.

  • Experience working for/with Financial Institutions or Fintechs is
    preferred.

  • A strong consulting background and knowledge of financial business processes, such as Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

  • Working knowledge of a card transaction life cycle.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
