We’re looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to work closely with the founding team in building a high-impact, scalable streaming platform. You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing core systems—particularly around stream processing and data storage. This is a hands-on role where you’ll own services end-to-end, from design through to deployment and ongoing operations.

What You’ll Do:
- Partner with the founding team to build and iterate on a mission-critical product.
- Design, develop, test, and optimize key backend components of our streaming and data systems.
- Own backend services in production, including on-call responsibilities—our engineers are responsible for the software they build.
- Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience writing scalable, high-performance backend code in Golang and Python (both required).
- Familiarity with observability and telemetry tools, especially OpenTelemetry.
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies to improve system capabilities.
- Independent, self-directed mindset with strong judgment on when to optimize vs. when to ship.
- Deep commitment to code quality, testing, and comprehensive documentation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
