Overview of Role

66degrees is seeking a senior contractor to engage on a 2 months remote assignment for approximately 45 hours per week with potential to extend. Interested candidates should have the following required skills in Golang.

Please note: Candidates must be available to start by first week of May.

This contractor will be working on a migration of the database and refactoring of the platform’s application code to work with BigTable. The application is written in Go, and utilizes a Kafka stream to ingest data that is then written into ScyllaDB.

Requirements

• Ability to work UK Hours (morning overlap with US time), 45 hours a week for a 2 months of contract without disruption.
• 5 years of recent and hands-on Golang experience
• Cloud experience is required (GCP/ AWS/ Azure); Recent experience with GCP is preferred and considered precedent however not a disqualifier
• Experience in migrations and working with BigTable.
• Experience with database- ScyllaDB
• Kafka experience.
• Proven ability to Test, validate and review the solution.
• Experience working in a highly automated agile environment where changes are pushed
• Familiar with the scrum process and Git.
• Strong communication skills.
