Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

We have an immediate opening for a self-motivated team player with the skills required to provide corporate finance support to our Latin American locations.This Staff Accountant role plays a key in the organization’s tax compliance procedures and ensures compliance with the applicable law and requirements for our LATAM offices (Panama and Mexico).

Responsibilities to include:

• Assists with tax returns and related reports to ensure compliance with tax statues and regulations for all LATAM subsidiaries by working with Senior Staff Accountant to properly interpret tax laws and regulations
• Records tax transactions in financial systems and maintains tax account reconciliations
• Follows compliance procedures and ensures that appropriate internal controls are in place and documented for LATAM tax compliance
• Assists with research and implementation of tax processes and makes appropriate recommendations from a tax perspective
• Communicates frequently with Senior Staff Accountant and members of the finance team
• Assists with tax disputes and resolutions, including audits
• Provides administrative payroll support for North and Central America

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of accounting experience focused in LATAM tax and compliance
• Experience working within a dynamic multi-country team in a professional services firm
• A strong passion for working with tax and compliance related items
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in both English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate clearly in both languages in a professional business environment, including written and verbal interactions
• Software: MS Office, Excel (Intermediate – Advanced
