Who will you be working with?

With a worldwide footprint and expertise with value-added solutions the Transit Services teams support all customers in their challenges be that maintenance, operational optimisation, reliability, availability, safety, and comfort via customised solutions for spare parts, repair and overhaul activities on existing trains, platforms, and infrastructure.

Role: UK Strategic Sourcing Director

How will you make a difference?

Lead the UK Transit Service Group's overall sourcing, supply chain, procurement, and logistics strategies to develop budgets, policies, and procedures to support the UK Group Operations and the functional infrastructure.

What will your typical day look like?

• Implement and manage sourcing strategies, processes, tools, and system requirements to improve cost, quality, and operational performance.
• Manage and lead initiatives that drive down cost, lead time and risks associated with the supply of products and services across the UK businesses.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships, evaluate suppliers, create, and maintain a preferred inventory of supplier’s optimal for the UK Group business’s needs.
• Drive down cost utilising and developing the UK teams to undertake commodity management analysis on the suppliers.
• Manage suppliers by setting, measuring, and driving performance expectations whilst working with cross functional teams.
• Implement organisational global strategies in line with corporate direction and the UK Group business plan.

What do we want to know about you?

• HND or degree qualified in Engineering or related discipline or alternatively qualified through extensive practical/operational experience.
• Experienced in leading and managing high performing team(s) working within a matrix organisation.
• Proven experience of performance tracking and improvement management across contracts and products.
• Highly skilled in managing a global supply base within a global business.
• Ability to negotiate successfully for resources, budgets, and schedules.
• Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
• Track record to successfully lead projects to completion, on time and within budget.
• Competent in utilising and embedding technology tools such as enterprise resource planning (ERP).
• While this position is remote, it may include occasional work at a Wabtec office/site or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
