A Senior Technical Trainer is a vital part of the continued success of the Learning & Development team! You are passionate about lifting your team to new heights and desire the best for our team and technicians. You are responsible for supporting the training team to continue improving facilitation of advanced Technical Training courses. This includes set up of courses and tear down. Travel is required as needed to support other trainers and as needed (est. 20% travel). In addition, virtual training and webinars for courses will also be required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Annually review all course content to ensure it is accurate and relevant to team objectives
Facilitate live, virtual, and remote advanced level technical training courses
Proctor advanced level assessments
Support the development of technical curriculum and task
Act as mentor to other trainers, supporting them in addition to technicians
Set up and tear down of courses
Organization of tool inventory and workshop
Check in training participants and ensure safety protocols are adhered to
Ensure participants are properly dressed for a productive and safe session
Maintain rosters and close out courses
Set cars up with faults as needed for training tasks
Leadership Skills:
Demonstrated leadership skills working with other trainers to support team objectives
Effective communication skills (demonstrated by effectively listening and responding)
Effective time management and organizational skills including ability to support others in this area
Required Skills:
Able to step in and create content when needed
Strong leadership, presentation and facilitation skills
Automotive technical skills; acquired through experience at retailer or independent automotive service facility or through a Technical College or similar training program
Automotive technical competencies learned through hands-on roles at either retail or independent vehicle service centers, or by completing formal education at Technical Colleges.
Understanding of Adult Learning concepts and facilitation styles
Computing & analytical skills; MS Word, MS PowerPoint & MS Excel
Preferred Education and Certifications:
Applicants must have at least 5 years of experience in delivering technical courses, either with a Luxury Automotive Manufacturer or through a Certified Automotive Technical School.
Red Seal Skills Level Certification in Automotive Technical Competence (Canada)
Strong knowledge in advanced automotive diagnostics and hybrid / all electric vehicle systems
Able to produce an overview of development
