ONTARIO MARKET - CANADA

POSITION PURPOSE

Reporting to the Vice-President, Business Development, the incumbent directly participates in the expansion of all sales and business development initiatives within the Mining sector. In this role, you will be responsible for increasing sales and strengthening partnerships within the Mining sector through engagement with local, regional, and national clients. The main provinces and territories will include but not limited to: Ontario, Manitoba.

Joining the Veolia Water Tech, Mining Market team will give you a broad exposure to industries, technologies, and a huge network of professionals across the globe. This will allow you to grow within the department or expand your career within Veolia business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotes Veolia’s products and services in the Mining sector in order to generate leads and achieve Sales Objectives accordingly
  • Manages all sales activities within its territory
  • Visit clients and potential clients to evaluate needs
  • Develops, in collaboration with management, the overall commercial development strategy and positioning specifically for the Mining market
  • Participates in industry and sales meetings to provide recommendations and inputs on business strategies
  • Participates in all business development activities ( conferences, trade shows, industry associations, etc.)
  • Builds, maintains and establishes strong business relationships with customers on different levels and strategic suppliers/partners to the company (consulting engineers, contractors)
  • Set the standard of quality for all information being sent to customers to convey the proper message to the marketplace
  • Actively follow-up on bids to ensure greatest potential for conversion to orders
  • Develop, manage, and lead the proposal process. Develop, manage, and lead the proposal process
  • Participates in contract negotiation
  • Deliver the path forward, mitigate objections, and manage the customer expectations
  • Informs the management of all activities, opportunities, issues and project deadlines in a detailed Monthly reports
  • Analyzes and actively communicates information about its market (competition, qualitative and quantitative market analysis)
  • Updates sales database on a weekly basis, prepares sales forecasts, while keeping abreast of key projects and accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of budget and firm proposals in collaboration with the tender and engineering teams
  • Develops and maintains all communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels within a customers’ organization and other Veolia Business Lines
  • Understands the complete Veolia offering to identify and promote inter-divisional Veolia cross-selling sales opportunities
  • Maintains a high level of Client Satisfaction
  • Identifies, develops and executes long-term, integrated industrial contracts for Veolia, meeting targets for business type, risk profile and pricing. Maintains a sufficient balance of prospects in the pipeline to ensure continuity of sales
  • Leads the sales process, with support as necessary, by seeking business opportunities by interviewing customers, other suppliers and colleagues in other regions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Will be required to travel for business purposes for approximately 60% of the time

  • Must be available to attend conventions, conferences, sometimes on weekends

  • Must be able to work under pressure to achieve the expected results in a timely manner

  • Job conditions are based on an expectation of sales results.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree related to the job requirements

  • 6-8 years experience in sales, expertise in water treatment sales, technical and commercial experience

  • Depth knowledge of the Mining sector

  • Knowledge of water treatment processes

  • Computer skills - Google suite, Microsoft suite

  • Knowledge of CRM computer systems is a must

COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to understand customers perspective, key business drivers and critical success factors in the environmental services industry
  • Must have sales proven competencies (hunting, managing accounts, building relationships with clients, etc.)
  • Is curious and interested in exploring opportunities
  • Must be a good negotiator (project closure and negotiation of terms and conditions), must be able to convince his clients, partners and sub-contractors
  • Strong ability to customize an offering around a client’s needs and to develop value-proposition
  • Ability to review, comprehend and negotiate complex legal contracts (with Attorney support)
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce
  • Knowledge of potential customers in the target markets within geographical focus area with a network and relationships with potential customers, national trade organizations, engineering and construction firms, equipment vendors, financiers
  • Knowledge of competitors in target markets, together with an appreciation of their strategies, strengths and weaknesses
  • Knowledge of assigned markets, prices, legislation, suppliers, influences, contract structures
  • Demonstrate effective project planning and organizational skills and effective use of time and resources to accomplish work and ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal, verbal, persuasion, presentation, and relationship building skills in order to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external contacts
  • Ability to modify communication and presentation style in order to relate to a variety of people and personalities
  • Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.

Required Certification / Licenses / Training

  • Must have a valid work permit

  • Work a hybrid and flexible schedule, including home office and travel (client sites / deployments, Veolia Head Quarter, and marketing events)

  • Must have a valid driver's license. The travel would include driving regionally and the possibility of flying.
