V2X, Inc. emerged from a significant transformation in the government and defense contracting landscape, marking a new chapter built on a rich legacy. The company's origins can be traced back through the histories of its foundational components, Vectrus and Vertex Aerospace. Vectrus itself was spun out from Exelis in 2014, which had a heritage extending over 75 years in providing mission-critical support. Vertex Aerospace, on the other hand, was acquired by American Industrial Partners in 2018 from L-3 Technologies and subsequently grew through strategic acquisitions like SENTEL, Advantor, Zenetex, and HHB between 2018 and 2020. This journey of evolution and strategic consolidation culminated in the summer of 2022, when Vectrus and Vertex merged in an all-stock transaction, giving birth to V2X. This strategic combination was driven by a shared vision of the market and the complementary nature of their capabilities, aiming to create a more diversified and scaled enterprise.

The formation of V2X was a deliberate move to create a leading provider of critical mission solutions, equipped to address the complex challenges of national security, defense, civilian, and international clients. The merger effectively doubled the size of the legacy companies, creating a global workforce of approximately 14,000 to 16,000 employees. The new entity, V2X, was designed to offer a comprehensive suite of integrated solutions across operations and logistics, aerospace, training, and technology markets. A key strategic focus for the combined company is the concept of 'converged solutions' or 'converged infrastructure,' which involves integrating digital technologies with physical assets to create smarter, more efficient operations, particularly for military bases and other large-scale facilities. This forward-looking approach, combined with a deep history of mission support, positions V2X to enhance readiness, streamline logistics, and improve security for its clients worldwide, continuing a journey that started decades ago and is now poised for future growth and innovation.
