Purpose of Role

We are looking for a dynamic leader to further accelerate our partnership with our EMEA strategic partner (The JD Group), matching our growth ambitions and aligned to the UA EMEA strategic vision. You will have a proven track record in Strategic Account Management and strong sales experience, ideally within the Sports Industry, and take a lead role in working cross functionally with UA internal teams, as well as managing multiple account buyers and merchandisers. Your responsibility will be to strategically manage and drive sustainable, yet ambitious, revenue growth against defined targets in the EMEA JD Sports business predominantly looking after the Men’s and Youth Apparel categories. You will support to execute decision-making through XF importance, strategic planning, and managing a Regional P&L whilst reporting into the Commercial Director. You will be open minded, self-motivated and a team player with excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management.

Your Impact

  • Strategically manage and drive sustainable, yet ambitious, revenue growth against defined targets in the EMEA JD Sports Mens & Youth Apparel business whilst strengthening existing partnership
  • Oversee end-to-end sales process (e.g., sell-in, sell-out, assortment selection, order entry/reconciliation, excellent in-season orderbook management and identify additional stock opportunities / replenishment)
  • Maintain strong E2E forecast accuracy to support the LFP, planning, and merch depts
  • Support XF team direction to enable a cohesive approach with our partners
  • Develop and execute Strategic plans by partner aligned to the overall EMEA Commercial strategy - by gender, category, and country, mutual performance objectives, financial targets, segmentation and differentiation in line with UA global strategy
  • Ensure UA is maximized across all channels of consumer navigation including BM, Digital, and Marketplace [where aligned] following the UA high standards
  • Collaborate and co-develop a robust Managed space and WHLS.com strategy by partner/fascia and country importance aligned to Long Range Plan [LRP]
  • Deliver the agreed metrics, including annual sales and profit for Under Armour, in line with the regional and global strategy.
  • Proactively understand the intersection between the Under Armour and JD Sports target consumer to optimize brand positioning in the market on an ongoing basis
  • Establish and maintain a strong internal communication and relationship with the line Managers and X-functions
  • Strong knowledge and passion of the Sport and the Sports Industry (customer profiles, competitors and market trends)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 8 years’ of experience from field to Senior Strategic Account Manager or comparable role in a forward order wholesale business, with a proven track record of high achievements
  • 3-5 years of management experience, or equivalent as the subject matter lead or expert in an expertise
  • Superior presentation skills
  • Experience of working with product and design teams to drive account relevant assortment (SMU input)
  • Be an expert across EMEA with focus on UK/IRE/FR/ES
  • Experience of working in a WHLS B2B environment, managing quarterly go to market business processes with internal and external teams
  • Demonstrated successful track record and progression in a commercial or business environment.
  • Working within strict deadlines and able to be adaptive to changes.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Computer literacy (Mircosoft suite) including excellent Excel spreadsheet skills with an analytical mind
  • Flexible approach and willingness to further learn & adapt in a fast pace growing business
  • PowerPoint presentation skills and the ability to deliver strong presentations (1:1 and groups)
  • Strategic, understands retail math, and financially astute
  • Be a Team Player
  • A self-starter who can demonstrate the drive and ambition that fits with the UA culture
  • Able to demonstrate strong negotiation skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills & demonstrable track record of good relationship building
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other areas of the business
  • Fluent in English (other languages desirable

Workplace Location

  • Location: Hybrid working in Under Armour office at JD Sports, Bury (North West UK) and working remotely from home.
  • Return to Work Designation: This individual must be willing to travel to the UA office (Bury) a minimum of 2 x per week.
  • Travel: There will be some expectation to travel to the Under Armour Amsterdam Office at times during the seasonal GTM process and occasional EMEA market trips: ~20%
