Our client, a boutique financial advisory and consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. In this role, you will serve as a key advisor to multiple clientsranging from high-growth startups to established mid-market companiesdelivering advanced accounting insights, financial analysis, and process improvements. You will work closely with Controllers, Fractional CFOs, and client leadership to perform technical accounting functions, oversee month-end close processes, prepare financial reports, and provide consultative recommendations that enhance business performance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in public accounting or financial consulting, thrives in a client-service environment, and brings an analytical, solutions-focused mindset to every engagement.
This role offers the opportunity to expand into higher-level client advisory responsibilities and provides a clear path to Controller and Fractional CFO career progression.

Senior Accountant (Public Accounting or Consulting exp. req.) Responsibilities

Lead and manage detailed accounting reviews across multiple client engagements
Oversee monthly and quarterly financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Advise clients on accounting treatment for complex transactions
Identify process gaps and recommend/implement improved accounting controls and procedures
Manage reconciliations of accounts, payroll, and intercompany activity
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling initiatives for clients
Act as a client-facing consultant, delivering insights that improve financial operations and decision-making

Senior Accountant (Public Accounting or Consulting exp. req.) Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required

5+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting or financial consulting required
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Modeling, etc.) required
Experience managing multiple clients or projects in an accounting environment required
