JOB SUMMARYThe Cloud Operations Manager is responsible for leading the cloud operations team that encompasses both engineering and operations work. The team is responsible for designing, building and maintaining cloud infrastructure components in OCI, AWS and Azure, especially horizontal cloud services used by multiple application teams, including Kubernetes clusters. The manager should be intimately familiar with OCI and AWS technologies and the use of Infrastructure as Code to build and deploy infrastructure components. The manager will also be responsible for OS platform support for both Linux and Windows platforms. The manager also does standard management functions including assigning tasks, reviewing work outputs, performance reviews and hiring of new engineers.

Essential Duties/Responsibilites % TIME

•Vision & Strategy: Develop, manage and grow the technical strategies and standards for the availability of the Cloud Operations team. Ensuring optimal uptime and issue mitigation by proactive platform health checks and devising mitigation strategies for identified issues5%•Infrastructure Health and Optimization: Collaborate with key stakeholders on defining the KPI’s to proactively institute environmental health checks. Provide forward looking analysis across the environment to identify, triage and address issues proactively prior to platform instability.5%•Platform Support: Ownership of all L3 escalated support events. Triage and resolve events along with the delivery of documented customer facing RCA’s as needed. Ownership of driving the requisite actions to resolve future impacts from like events from occurring again5%•Knowledge Base Content: Responsible for creating all KB content for L1/L2 support for any and all escalated events into Cloud Operations. Work with other support organizations for cross team awareness of issues and gaps.5%•Metrics & Performance: Manage the team to deliver on the defined service and performance standards to exceed on customer uptime and satisfaction.5%•Team Development: Develop, Attract and Maintain key talent to support a growing mission critical environment. Define and drive the training and development for key cloud operations personnel.5%•Infrastructure Health and Optimization: Build, plan and execute on ongoing platform updates for proactive platform stability. Build the project delivery plans to continue to keep the global platform operating at a high degree of operational efficiency.5%•Infrastructure Disaster Recovery Testing: Oversee and ensure that disaster recovery standards are defined and maintained; oversee disaster recovery maintenance, testing, and recovery procedures for the organization.5%•Communications: Provide cross-team collaboration and consistent communications in regards to ongoing operations policy and procedure updates. Communicating to the team, peers and management the “State of the Cloud Operations” at TriNet via operations reviews, dashboards and newsletters5%

Education:

Bachelor's Degreeor equivalent experience preferred

Work Experience:

Typically 5+ yearsin a management rolerequired Typically 8+ yearsof work or experience in related fieldrequired

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong experience with container technologies, specifically AWS EKS and OCI OKE and management tools like Nirmata Strong proficiency in AWS and OCI services/technologies Strong experience with configuration management and automation tools (Puppet, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, Python) Strong experience with infrastructure as code tools (AWS CDK, CDK Terraform) Experience with leveraging AWS automation technologies (ie: trigger events/Lamda) to achieve operational efficiency gains. Strong background in Linux operating system administration (RedHat, Satellite, IPA, shell scripting) Strong experience with server protocols and utilities (SSH, Samba, NFS, DNS, SMTP, s/ftp) Strong background in DNS, Storage principles Experience with Information Security principles, technologies, and best practices Experience with tools used in the software development process – GitHub, Stash, Artifactory, Confluence/Jira, Some experience with hypervisor technologies (VMware) Experience with change management controls, SOX, SOC HIPAA auditory compliance Strong analytical and problem solving skills Detail-oriented with excellent self-motivation, planning, documentation, and communication skills Ability to adapt to a fast paced environment while managing multiple priorities A demonstrated commitment to a diverse workplace and “team first” philosophy

The salary range for this role is $103,700 to $273,700. The candidate’s final salary offer will be based on the candidate’s skills, education, work location and experience.

A candidate’s compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet’s corporate bonus plan.
