The story of Trident Seafoods is a classic American tale of adventure, grit, and a profound love for the sea. It all began in 1961 when a 19-year-old Chuck Bundrant left his home in Tennessee with an old Ford truck and a dream, heading for the untamed wilderness of Alaska. He wasn't just seeking a job; he was chasing an adventure in the heart of the fishing world. For over a decade, Bundrant immersed himself in the demanding life of a fisherman, learning the rhythms of the ocean and the intricacies of the trade aboard various fishing boats. It was during these formative years that he forged crucial partnerships with fellow fishermen Kaare Ness and Mike Jacobson. Together, they shared a vision that would revolutionize the industry.

In 1973, this vision became a reality with the founding of Trident Seafoods. Their pioneering vessel, the Billikin, was one of the first of its kind in Alaskan waters, a catcher-processor capable of catching, processing, and freezing king crab all on a single ship. This innovation marked the beginning of Trident's journey as a vertically integrated company, controlling every step of the process from the source to the plate. What started as a humble partnership between three fishermen has since grown into North America's largest seafood company. Now, more than 50 years later and under the leadership of Chuck's son, CEO Joe Bundrant, the company remains family-owned and deeply committed to its founding principles. Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, Trident's operations are anchored in Alaska, with a global reach that extends to facilities in six countries and customers in over 50, all while championing sustainable fishing practices to ensure the bounty of the ocean for generations to come.
