PR Associate - (Remote, Part-time)

Hours: 20 hours per week; EST/PST Flexi-time

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on PR Associate / PR Manager to support tactical public relations execution. This role is focused on writing, pitching, press release distribution, and media coordination. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced agency environment.

Key Responsibilities

Press & Media Execution

• Draft and issue press releases via newswire platforms (e.g., PR Newswire, Globe Newswire)

• Build and send targeted pitches to media lists

• Conduct podcast and newsletter pitching (using tools like PodPitch)

• Book and schedule interviews for clients

Client Communication & Coordination

• Provide regular client updates via email

• Support light project management and task tracking

• Ensure deliverables are completed on time and aligned with strategy

Content Support

• Produce and edit written materials including press releases, pitches, and short-form content

• Assist with ongoing content needs across client accounts

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of experience in public relations, media outreach, or communications

• Strong writing and editing skills (clear, concise, professional tone)
• Experience pitching journalists, podcasts, or newsletters
• Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail)
• Organized and able to manage multiple deadlines

Nice-to-Have Experience:

• Experience submitting press releases via PR Newswire, Globe Newswire, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with PR software such as Meltwater or Muck Rack
• Experience with PodPitch
• Agency experience supporting multiple client accounts
