The Program Management Senior Advisor is a highly adaptable and experienced project manager who thrives in fast‑paced, dynamic environments. This role is designed for an individual who can flex across projects and business initiatives in response to evolving organizational and business unit needs.
The position is responsible for the successful delivery of assigned projects and for supporting the achievement of departmental operational and financial goals. The advisor plays a critical role in driving functional and technical delivery, ensuring priorities are aligned and measurable business value is realized.
This role leads projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery within defined scope, budget, and timelines, while adhering to established quality, governance, and compliance standards. Through strong partnership, execution discipline, and strategic focus, the Program Management Senior Advisor contributes directly to AAPS’s mission of improving affordability and accuracy across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery & Execution
- Lead end-to-end project execution, ensuring alignment with approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Oversee final deployment and delivery of project outcomes to customers.
- Support initial post‑deployment maintenance phases to ensure solution stability and functionality.
- Risk & Issue Management
- Identify potential project risks and issues proactively.
- Develop and implement mitigation and prevention strategies.
- Resolve issues as they arise to keep projects on track.
- Progress Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor project progress against milestones and deliverables.
- Track project budgets and financial performance.
- Provide regular, clear status updates and reports to stakeholders and leadership.
- Governance & Planning
- Establish and maintain project governance frameworks.
- Develop and manage cutover strategies to support smooth transitions and go‑live activities.
- Create and maintain RACI charts to clearly define roles, responsibilities, and accountability across project teams.
- Obtain and manage required clarity codes or project identifiers as part of organizational governance processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Associate degree may be considered with equivalent experience.
- Deep understanding of the AAPS organization and associated programs used to deliver value to customers and stakeholders, or experience within a similar operational environment.
- 10+ years of Project Management experience, ideally in a large operations environment
- 10+ years of experience working on technical projects, including working knowledge of IT organizations and resource estimation processes.
- Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and establish credibility with business users and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to drive team results and deliver projects on time, within budget, and with high quality.
- Experience with prioritization, developing project timelines, and building business cases.
- Ability to quickly learn business processes, identify key stakeholders, and anticipate potential obstacles.
- Working knowledge and experience working in an Agile environment preferred
- Strong negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Exceptional organizational and facilitation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Candidates who reside within 50 miles of the following locations may be asked to work in person on a hybrid schedule (three days per week): Bloomfield, CT, Chattanooga, TN, Denver, CO, St Louis, MO, or Scottsdale, AZ.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 116,100 - 193,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
