WHEN & WHERE YOU’LL WORK:

This is a remote, field-based position. The ideal candidate should reside in Austin, Texas with regular coverage of Waco and surrounding areas.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Directly responsible for the promotion and sale of Tandem Diabetes products and clinical services within an assigned territory in partnership with a Territory Manager (“territory sales team”). The territory sales team is expected to work together to plan and ensure achievement of sales goals through clinical acceptance of Tandem products’ insulin pump therapy. Identifies potential customers, establishes and develops business relationships to facilitate the sales of Tandem Diabetes' products and clinical services. Uses clinical expertise to provide account sales support and continuing education in direct contact to patients, physicians and their staff on the technical use of insulin pump therapy and special considerations related to pump therapy in the marketplace in order to generate sales. Promotes Tandem Diabetes products and services by providing additional education on topics such as diabetes self-management skills, emergency management and community resources as determined by client needs.

Clinical Diabetes Sales Specialists at Tandem are also responsible for:

  • Partner with the Territory Manager to drive sales growth and support business objectives in the assigned territory.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with healthcare providers (e.g., endocrinologists, CDCEs, NPs, RNs) to support the adoption of Tandem Diabetes products and services.
  • Identify and qualify sales leads using available tools and execute effective strategies to convert prospects into customers.
  • Deliver compelling clinical and product presentations that differentiate Tandem’s offerings in terms of technology, outcomes, and patient care.
  • Provide in-person and virtual training to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on Tandem’s insulin pump products and diabetes management solutions.
  • Educate customers on industry trends, emerging technologies, and Tandem’s role in improving diabetes outcomes.
  • Support onboarding and recertification of Tandem Pump Trainers, ensuring consistent and effective product education across the territory.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Support and Customer Technical Support, to resolve post-sale issues and optimize patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records and territory activity using CRM tools; complete all required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Attend regional meetings, trade shows, and corporate trainings to stay aligned with company initiatives and clinical advancements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years’ experience coordinating and conducting patient education on the technical use of diabetes technology (experience with video remote education preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate as a clinical expert to patients and HCPs
  • 1 year of related diabetes/endocrinology industry experience preferred.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • RN, RD or RPh or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
  • Advanced Diabetes Education Professional Credential (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or Board Certified, Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) certified or eligible.
  • Maintenance of registration and licensure through clinical education.
  • Continuing education on patient education on the technical use of diabetes technology and special considerations related to pump therapy in the marketplace.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The base pay for this position is $98,100.00 - $119,900.00 annually, with a target earning potential of $123,100.00 - $144,900.00 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes a robust benefits package.

You’ll also receive 11 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (with accrual starting on day 1) and you will have access to a 401k plan with company match as well as an Employee Stock Purchase plan.
