OVERVIEW

Full-time/Permanent Employee

Location: Remote (With a preference in Oklahoma City)
As a Mechanical Engineer III, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex mechanical systems, providing technical guidance, and optimizing equipment and system performance. You will apply advanced analytical and investigative techniques to evaluate and improve existing equipment and develop innovative applications for new designs. Your role includes estimating manpower and material requirements, preparing project schedules, and coordinating technicians in fabrication and installation efforts. You will oversee field operations, maintenance activities, and modifications to eliminate system malfunctions and meet evolving requirements. Additionally, you will plan and execute engineering assignments, ensuring seamless integration across various project stages. Your expertise will be essential in reviewing technical documentation, correcting fabrication drawings, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. Working under general direction, you will independently determine and implement solutions to complex technical challenges
The proposed salary range for this position is $100,028-$135,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design, analyze, and optimize complex mechanical systems to improve functionality, performance, and efficiency

    • Investigate and evaluate new applications for existing mechanical equipment and systems using advanced analytical techniques

    • Estimate project requirements, including manpower, materials, and time, while developing schedules to ensure timely completion

    • Supervise and coordinate fabrication, installation, and maintenance activities for mechanical and related electronic equipment

    • Direct field operations and maintenance activities to resolve issues and improve system reliability

    • Identify and implement design modifications to address malfunctions and evolving system requirements

    • Develop and conduct complex test procedures for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with performance specifications

    • Provide technical guidance to personnel involved in producing fabrication drawings and review designs for accuracy and compliance

    • Prepare, review, and edit engineering reports, evaluation plans, test results, and technical documentation

    • Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions

    • Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded

    • Identify and forward to your leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area

    • Participate in growth efforts as requested

    • Ensure all contractual deliverables are met/exceeded to the customer's satisfaction

    • Complete personal PDP and attend Staff Meeting and Storytime (with camera on)

    • Within your program, build productive and positive professional relationships with clients

    • Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements

    • Perform other related duties as assigned

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

    Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
    Education and Years of Experience:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 3 -10 years of experience

    • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science

    • Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design, simulation, and drafting technical drawings

    • Ability to troubleshoot, test, and optimize mechanical systems for improved reliability and performance

    • Experience supervising and coordinating fabrication, testing, and installation of mechanical equipment

    • Strong technical writing and documentation skills to support engineering reports, evaluations, and compliance requirements

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for system optimization

    • Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME, ANSI, or ISO for mechanical design and manufacturing

    • Background in automation, robotics, or mechatronics for mechanical system integration

    • Hands-on experience with prototyping, machining, and assembling mechanical components

    • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and presenting technical findings
