About the Role

The Senior Clinical Support Specialist serves as a key liaison between patients, telehealth physical therapists, and the care team, ensuring a seamless and effective virtual care experience. This role is responsible for providing expert-level clinical support for patients with musculoskeletal (MSK) issues, leveraging a strong physical therapy background to enhance patient-provider communication, guide patients through their treatment pathway, and optimize treatment adherence. The ideal candidate will combine their clinical expertise with technical proficiency and exceptional communication skills to facilitate high-quality remote care.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Clinical Guidance and Monitoring: Assist members by monitoring patient progress through digital tracking systems and patient-reported outcomes. Answer non-emergent patient questions related to their MSK treatment plans and home exercise programs.
  • Virtual Patient Triage and Support: Assist Health Coaches and Member Support with clinical questions and maintain professional scope based on licensure.
  • MSK Expert Consultation: Leverage deep knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, injuries, and rehabilitation to provide specialized guidance to patients and support the clinical team. This includes offering creative solutions for at-home exercise modifications and customized exercises based on patient needs.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on their MSK diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan. Effectively demonstrate and guide patients through exercises virtually, providing clear cues and feedback to ensure proper form.
  • Coordination and Documentation: Serve as a coordinator of information between patients and the clinical team, documenting all patient interactions and observations accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide basic technical support to patients and clinicians to resolve connectivity or platform issues and escalate to Product/Engineering

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) with minimum 5 years of clinical experience. DPT, or MPT degree from an accredited program.
  • Current and active Physical Therapist (PT) state licensure. Multi state licensure preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise and significant clinical experience in musculoskeletal physical therapy.
  • Experience in digital health, asynchronous care delivery, or telehealth models required.
  • Strong product knowledge and ability to adapt to evolving technologies.

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with product, dev, and clinical teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high degree of empathy and the ability to build rapport virtually.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a virtual clinical team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate patient schedules.

We empower patients to make the best treatment decisions for their unique joint, back, and muscle pain. With musculoskeletal (MSK) pain, knowing the right path forward isn’t always easy. Too many patients take wrong turns and hit dead ends on their care journey. That leads to unnecessary referrals and less-than-favorable health outcomes that fail patient and provider expectations.

In a country where half of the population is living with an MSK condition, it is clear that a more efficient approach is overdue.

TailorCare takes out the guesswork for patients, connecting them with the right provider and the right level of care. Our comprehensive care program is rooted in a clinical assessment that considers a patient’s symptoms, health history, preferences, and goals. Coupled with predictive data and up-to-the-minute evidence-based guidelines, we help patients choose—and navigate—the most effective treatment pathway for their specific needs—every step of the way.

The result? Improved treatment adherence, happier care journeys, better patient outcomes, and a more efficient system for all.

Our values

  • Put patients first: Our company exists to help patients navigate the healthcare system and feel better. We make every decision and measure every outcome based on how well it serves the patient.

  • Act with integrity: We’re committed to doing what’s right. We collaborate, keep our promises, and build trust through responsible actions and honest relationships.

  • Partner with purpose: Through our partnerships, we achieve better clinical outcomes, deliver significant value, and create long-term relationships to improve healthcare delivery.

  • Deliver results: Our team sets and achieves bold goals. We’re committed to acting quickly, providing forward-thinking solutions, and delivering measurable success to all our stakeholders.

  • Perform better together: We’re passionate about creating a positive and inclusive culture where everyone is genuinely seen, heard, and respected. We learn from and bring out the best in each other.
