Sudy.com is the leading educational website with lessons, courses and practice for students, teachers, and adult learners. We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Content Writer to join our team as a contractor and support us in creating high-quality education content for our primarily US-based users.
This is a fully remote, online contract role. All work is paid hourly.
Project Description
- Researching about education and test prep topics for a U.S.-based audience
- Developing detailed outlines based on keyword research, competitor analysis, and content briefs
- Writing SEO/EO-optimized articles that balance search performance with readability and user intent
- Incorporating marketing claims and product messaging seamlessly into informative content
- Analyzing performance data and generating insights to guide content improvements
- Editing and optimizing existing published articles for improved rankings, visibility and engagement
- Creating infographics or visual elements to increase shareability and link potential
- Ensuring all content is unique, accurate, well-structured, and aligned with brand voice
Required Skills:
- Availability to work with overlap in Pacific Standard Time (minimum of 4 hours between 1 PM – 8 PM PST)
- 3 - 5+ years of professional experience writing SEO/EO optimized driven content
- 3+ years of experience in marketing content, link-building content, or performance-driven publishing
- Experience leveraging AI writing and research tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Surfer, Clearscope) to enhance content quality, efficiency, SEO performance, and ideation, while maintaining strong editorial judgment and human oversight
- Strong copyediting skills with exceptional attention to grammar, clarity, and consistency
- Demonstrated success publishing content that drives organic traffic, backlinks, and engagement
- Deep understanding of on-page SEO best practices, including:
- Keyword research and search intent alignment
- Competitor analysis and SERP evaluation
- Strategic header structure (H1–H3 hierarchy)
- Metadata optimization (title tags, meta descriptions)
- Internal linking strategies
- Readability optimization and user experience considerations
- Ability to incorporate keywords naturally without sacrificing quality or authority
- Experience optimizing content for both user experience and search engine performance
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Experience writing in the education or test prep space
- Experience developing linkable assets or data-driven studies
- Familiarity with SEO/EO best practices
- Familiarity with marketing tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Muckrack
- Experience optimizing content for Google AI Overviews (AIO) and generative search (GEO), using structured citations, entity reinforcement, semantic depth, and authority signals to enhance AI-driven discoverability.
- Prior experience working in a remote environment
