About the Role:
We’re looking for someone to help us find, analyze, and buy the right trucks and trailers for our business. The focus is on making smart, financially sound decisions-not just negotiating deals. You don’t need deep trucking experience; we’ll show you the ropes.
What You’ll Do:
Find and analyze deals for trucks and trailers-always focusing on what’s best for our business financially.
Build and maintain strong relationships with trusted vendors; negotiate prices, warranties, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
Handle the full purchase process: gather fleet needs, get and compare quotes, check vendor backgrounds, and present recommendations for approval.
Make sure every purchase follows our internal checklist (admin, financial, legal steps) and is fully documented.
Oversee delivery: work with the yard manager to check that delivered equipment matches what we ordered, and quickly sort out any issues with vendors.
Keep everything compliant-track warranties, contracts, invoices, and make sure we meet all legal and safety standards.
Enter all new trucks and trailers into our TMS (fleet system) with complete, accurate data-no missing info.
Use our tools (TMS, accounting software, procurement platforms) to keep everything organized and up to date.
Stay on top of market trends, find the best deals, and compare leasing vs. buying options.
Regularly report what’s been purchased, summarize costs, and flag any vendor or invoice issues.
What We’re Looking For:
Strong with numbers and financial analysis (Excel / Gsheets, cost comparisons, ROI).
Good at negotiating but always focused on the bigger financial picture.
Organized and detail-oriented-especially with documentation and data entry.
Comfortable using software (TMS, accounting, procurement tools).
Curious and open to learning about the trucking industry.
Team player who communicates clearly and works well with others.
