Solana Foundation

We are the Solana Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Zug, Switzerland, with a clear and focused mission: to champion the decentralization, adoption, and security of the Solana network. Since our formation in April 2020, we have dedicated ourselves to stewarding the ecosystem and ensuring it remains a robust, permissionless, and censorship-resistant platform for the next generation of the internet. Our vision is a world where individuals truly own their data and can transfer value globally without relying on third-party intermediaries. We believe that achieving this requires a network that can meet the demands of global marketplaces, and we see the Solana protocol as the key to unlocking this potential.

To bring this vision to life, we work on several core initiatives. We are deeply committed to fostering a vibrant, open-source community of developers, creators, and entrepreneurs. Through our comprehensive grants program, we provide funding for projects that contribute public goods to the ecosystem, from developer tooling and educational resources to critical infrastructure and research. We actively work to grow the network by encouraging and supporting new validator nodes through our Delegation Program, which helps increase the network's security and decentralization. We believe that by supporting the builders and innovators, we are laying the groundwork for a more equitable and accessible digital future, creating economic opportunities for enterprises and individuals all over the world on a scalable, high-performance blockchain.
