As the Director of Instructional Design, reporting to Director, Sales Enablement, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the instructional design strategy and leading a team of talented instructional designers. You will be responsible for overseeing the development of high-quality, learner-centered educational content that aligns with our organizational objectives and promotes employee success. This role requires a deep understanding of instructional design principles, emerging technologies, and pedagogical best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and communicate a clear vision for instructional design that support’s Sinch’s missions and goals.
- Collaborate with leadership to establish strategic priorities and initiatives for instructional design efforts.
- Lead the development and implementation of innovative approaches to instructional design that enhance the effectiveness and accessibility of training content.
- Manage projects with accuracy, transparency, and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Oversee the localization of training assets to support worldwide delivery goals.
Team Leadership and Management
- Recruit, hire, mentor a team of instructional designers, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth and development.
- Define roles, responsibilities, and workflows to optimize team performance and productivity.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, discussions, and check-ins to provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Fostering a collaborative, results-oriented team environment that appropriately challenges and grows team members’ skills and contribution.
Curriculum Development
- Oversee the design and development of curriculum materials, including course outlines, instructional modules, assessments, and multimedia resources.
- Ensure that instructional content is aligned with learning objectives, standards, and assessment criteria.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and research in instructional design and technology to inform curriculum development efforts.
Quality Assurance
- Establish quality assurance process and standards to maintain the highest levels of quality and consistency in instructional materials.
- Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of instructional content to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather feedback and incorporate revisions as needed.
Technology Integration
- Oversee the integration of instructional design technology and platforms into instructional design workflows.
- Provide training and support to instructional design team members on the effective use of technology tools and resources.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years managing a team of instructional designers or learning and development teams
- Minimum of 8 years in instructional design and curriculum development. SaaS experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing instructional design projects, teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in instructional design methodologies, learning theories, and pedagogical best practices.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), authoring tools (Captivate, Articulation, Vyond, etc), multimedia software.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with a knack for conveying complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools and concepts and ability to thoughtfully innovate content creation processes.
- Strong collaboration skills, enabling productive partnerships with stakeholders and internal teams to drive innovation and problem-solving.
- Demonstrated accountability and customer-centric mindset, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and priorities.
