Serco is a leading global service provider that specialises in delivering essential public services. We’re currently seeking a dynamic and experienced ERP Technical Project Manager to lead the charge in defining, documenting, and successfully completing technical projects within our expansive ERP landscape. This is a unique opportunity to take on a vital role within the Data, Digital, and Technology function, contributing to projects that span the UK & Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific regions.

As our ERP Technical Project Manager, you will oversee both internal delivery teams and external partners/suppliers and ensure that effective project control, change control, risk management and testing processes are maintained. Additionally, you will monitor and control budget and resources, and manage the expectations of all project stakeholders.

Main responsibilities of the role:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of standalone ERP work-packages or ERP technical workstreams within broader business programs.
  • Manage internal delivery teams and external partners/suppliers for effective project delivery and high-quality outputs.

  • Identify and manage risks and dependencies, proactively resolving issues and escalating when required.
  • Plan for Service Acceptance and collaborate with Operations teams to ensure readiness for service.
  • Maintain project documentation and comply with PMO Governance standards.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, chairing/supporting project boards, and managing expectations.
  • Balance competing demands of multiple parallel projects, considering the business impact.

What you’ll need to do the role:

  • Significant project management or technical delivery management experience within ERP or IT projects, covering both linear and iterative approaches.
  • Strong experience in dealing with senior business users and stakeholders, determining delivery scope, priorities, and issue resolution.
  • Experience working with SAP Technical BASIS and ABAP teams, and also with wider IT teams to deliver hosting, connectivity, and access requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of Project Management and Change Management best practices.
  • Foundational understanding of Systems Integration, SDLC Methodologies, Quality Assurance and Testing, Requirements Gathering, and Systems Analysis/Design.
  • Proven ability to plan IT work-packages, maintain budget control, and manage issues and risks.
  • Excellent presentation skills, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to coordinate and motivate others to deliver without direct management authority.
  • Ability to anticipate and build contingency plans, solve problems, and handle challenging situations with perseverance and professionalism.
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize own workload, and multitask effectively.

What we offer:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Annual leave purchase scheme.
  • Up to 6% contributory pension scheme
  • Flexible working options.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • Serco discounts which include cinema, merlin entertainment and online shopping discounts, and discounts on mobile phone plans and leisure centre memberships.
  • A range of benefits to support the health and wellbeing of you and your family such as Employee Assistance Programme, Health Cash Plans, free flu jabs and more.
  • A wealth of career development training to suit your future aspirations. These range from role specific training, leadership coaching, formal study and much more to support you to build your career with Serco.
  • A safe and supportive culture.
  • A company passionate about diversity and inclusion.
