Accounting Manager

SUMMARY

The AccountingManager is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations andfinancial reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with USGAAP in a private equity–backed environment. This role manages a smallaccounting team, plays a key role in inventory and cost accounting, andsupports timely and reliable financial information for management, lenders, andthe private equity sponsor.

The position ishands-on and operational, with a strong focus on close execution and continuousprocess improvement within the company’s Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)ERP environment.

JOBRESPONSIBILITIES

·Financial Reporting & Close

oManage and execute the monthlyclose process

oEnsure accurate and timelypreparation of monthly trial balance in accordance with U.S. GAAP and supportreporting requirements for the private equity sponsor

oLearn the business to providetimely commentary on the monthly operating results

oProvide support for the annualexternal audit as requested and serve as a key point of contact with externalauditors

oOversee key accountingestimates and judgments, including accruals, reserves, and inventory-relatedaccounts

·Inventory & Cost Accounting

oOversee inventory accountingfor a multi-location wholesale distribution business

oMonitor and account forinventory shrink, obsolescence, freight capitalization, rebates, and vendorprograms

oSupport cycle count processesand annual physical inventories, ensuring proper reconciliation and reserveadjustments

oPartner with operations andsupply chain teams to improve inventory accuracy and controls

·ERP & Systems

oServe as the key accountingowner for Great Plains

oEnsure proper systemconfiguration, data integrity, and consistent accounting treatment within theERP, to include any add-ons

oCoordinate with IT to maintainand enhance reporting through external tools, which currently include SQL andTableau

oSupport process improvements,reporting enhancements, and system-related initiatives

·Internal Controls &Compliance

oMaintain and enhance internalcontrols over financial reporting appropriate for a lean accountingorganization in a private equity–backed environment

oEnsure compliance with companypolicies, accounting standards, and lender reporting requirements

oSupport working capitalmanagement and covenant reporting

·Leadership & TeamManagement

oManage and develop one directreport within the accounting function

oReview work products, providecoaching, and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met

oPromote accountability,accuracy, and continuous improvement

·Cross-Functional &Strategic Support

oPartner with the VP ofAccounting and the Director of FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow initiatives

oSupport acquisition integrationefforts as needed, including accounting alignment and process standardization

oCollaborate with operations,sales, and IT to ensure financial data supports business decision-making

oAdminister the company’sT&E credit card program (issue new cards, cancel cards, review and approvelimit increases, ensure expense reports are processed timely to facilitatepayment)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountingor Finance

·Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP

• 5+ years of progressiveaccounting experience. (Can be a combination of CPA firm and industry, butneeds at least 2 years in industry)
• Experience in distribution,wholesale, manufacturing, or other inventory-intensive environments
• Demonstrated ability tocomplete month-end close and support external audit requests as needed

oExperience working in a privateequity–backed or similarly fast-paced environment

oExperience with MicrosoftDynamics GP (Great Plains), specifically version 18.3 (GP 2021).

oAdvanced Excel proficiency.
