The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Data Services (ES -Data) Team:

RTX’s Enterprise Data Services (ES-Data) group has an opening for an Associate Director, Data Governance Product Lead (Associate Director, Business Systems and Transformation) supporting RTX’s focus on Digital Thread/Data Strategy as part of our enterprise-wide Digital Transformation initiative.

  • Focused enthusiastic champion of data governance, offering BU’s consulting, adoption methods, training, and assistance to ensure their strategic and high-value projects leverage data governance, driving adoption and value for RTX.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with BUs to understand strategic priorities to shape the Data Governance capability roadmap.
  • Develop and drive an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap around Product, incorporating strategic priorities as requirements.
  • Support the ongoing development of the enterprise- wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality BU alignment.
  • Capture and document requirements, performing system analysis into a data governance capability and services prioritized product backlog
  • Coordinate data governance capabilities development and build out with internal infrastructure team inform business and corporate partners of availability.
  • Resolve issues escalated from technical and functional areas data governance representatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and education to BU’s including regarding data governance best practices.
  • Coordinate external data sources to eliminate redundancy and streamline the expense related to those services.
  • Analyze and address data-related problems and identify new improvement opportunities
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of data models and data dictionaries.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings to identify and resolve data governance issues.
  • Support data governance team to provide progress reports to ES-Data SLT and BU and Corporate Data Board management.
  • Support the development and implementation of data catalog, protection and quality standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise.
  • Support definition of indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements.
  • Travel up to 25-30%

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Minimum of 12+ years’ experience in Data Governance with an emphasis on creating technical roadmap and strategy and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or Business or similar discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 10+ years’ of related work experience.
  • Senior management role with Board level change or transformation leadership experience.
  • Experience leading data cataloging, protection and quality management practices in an organization.
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Internally and externally recognized subject matter expert that influence the way things are done. Ability to influence and change direction quickly
  • Knowledge of risk data architecture and technology solutions.
  • Experience with Data Governance Tools; preferably Informatica Suite
  • Experience in data/ BI analytics, large-scale database technologies, data ingestion, processing, cloud- based infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with data analysis especially using Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI tools.
  • Ability to Travel 25-30%

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
