res

RES is the nation's largest ecological restoration company, founded in 2007, dedicated to restoring a resilient earth through nature-based solutions including environmental mitigation, water quality improvement, and climate resilience projects across the United States.

About res

In 2007, RES was founded with a clear and compelling vision: to restore a resilient earth for a modern world. Recognizing that nature-based solutions offered the most sustainable path forward for environmental challenges, our founders set out to build the nation's largest ecological restoration company. We saw an opportunity to not just mitigate environmental damage, but to actively restore ecosystems at every scale - from a farmer's excess acreage to national park-sized projects. Our approach was different from the start: we design with the end in mind, creating self-sustaining, permanently preserved ecosystems that continue to provide value long after our work is complete.

Today, RES stands as the nation's largest dedicated Nature-based Solutions provider, having conserved and protected over 88,000 acres of land, restored 690 miles of streams, and planted more than 28 million trees. Our 338 mitigation projects span every major eco-region, with teams deeply immersed in local biodiversity and water resource challenges. From our groundbreaking work on the Klamath River restoration - the world's largest dam removal and river restoration project - to our daily work restoring wetlands, prairies, and coastal systems, we remain guided by our founding principle: we are long-term stewards of the Earth, and our projects must make it thrive.
