Lead Developer - Hands-on, Pair-Coding (AI Purchasing Agent)

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Developer who will work closely with the CTO in a pair-coding model and actually build the core of the product from scratch.

This is not a managerial role. We are not looking for a "coordinator" or "people lead".

We are looking for someone with extensive experience, an engineer who enjoys writing code, making architectural decisions and delivering MVP in conditions of uncertainty and time pressure.

The role is crucial at the PMF exploration stage – quality, speed and the ability to iterate are what count.

Your tasks

As Lead Developer, you will:

• Work in pair-coding with the CTO on key elements of the system,

• Implement AI agents, decision-making workflows and integrations (search → evaluation → purchase),

• Build the backend and API for the AI Purchasing Agent,

• Co-create the MVP architecture (pragmatically, without over-engineering),

• Optimise performance, stability and costs,

• Ensure code readability and quality at a fast pace of development,

• Participate in technical decisions that directly affect the product,

• Design and develop the core architecture of the AI Purchasing Agent (multi-agent workflows, crawling, integrations, API).

Who we are looking for (Must-have)

• At least 5+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer,

• Very good knowledge of Python or Node.js,

• Practical experience with LLMs, prompting, AI model integration,

• Experience in building products from scratch (0 → MVP),

• Willingness to engage in intensive pair coding,

• Knowledge of React / Next.js (sufficient to work on MVP),

• Startup mindset - ownership, speed, responsibility.

Nice to have

• Experience in e-commerce, marketplace or travel,

• Working with vector DB, Redis, async systems,

• DevOps basics (deploy, monitoring, cloud),

• Working in pre-PMF startups or on very early-stage products.
