The Red Hat Subscription Management team is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Subscriptions Management Team. In this role, you will work on the Red Hat’s Subscription-Watch project focused on developing cloud-native applications for our subscription utilization, reporting, and billing platform. You will be developing REST and messaging APIs for customer-facing applications. You will collaborate with both local and remote team members to design, develop, and test integrated solutions. You will develop modern web applications with a focus on back-end and system integrations.
Qualified applicants will contribute to the team's capabilities by demonstrating technical competency, communication skills, personal initiative, creativity, desire to learn, transparency, and ability to work as part of a global team.
What you will do:
Develop, test, and maintain, Java based REST & message-based applications and services for internal and external customers.
Document use cases, create physical and logical data models
Design database schemas, indexes, and transaction boundaries within performance and scalability constraints
Automate infrastructure management best practices with OpenShift
What you will bring:
Java, including Spring or Quarkus
Python
Linux experience
Writing & debugging queries in SQL
These are considered as a plus:
Kafka, Red Hat JBoss AMQ, Apache ActiveMQ, or Apache ActiveMQ Artemis
Prometheus PromQL queries
Working on open source projects
Swagger or OpenAPI
Spring Boot
Quarkus
Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes
