About re:power

re:power is a national progressive training and capacity building organization dedicated to building a critical mass of social justice movements and their leaders who embody the ideology and practice of liberatory organizing. Founded in 2003 as Wellstone Action, the organization was rebranded in 2018 as re:power to explicitly center Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities in its mission.

The organization operates as a work-from-anywhere organization with its headquarters in Minnesota, though most team members work remotely from states across the country. re:power offers comprehensive training programs covering organizing, campaigning, technology, collaborative governance, and leadership development. Their programs are structured to prepare progressive leaders to plan bold visions and strategies, activate their communities into action, and build sustainable organizations for long-term movement building.

With a network of nearly 15,000 alumni over the past three years, re:power has cultivated an intergenerational community of organizers, strategists, creatives, campaigners, technologists, and elected officials working across diverse issue areas including civic engagement, civil rights, climate and environment, labor and economic justice, governance, immigration, healthcare, and data and technology. Their ultimate vision is a liberated, multiracial democracy free from the oppressive systems of white supremacy and patriarchy.
