Customer Operations Executive - Instalabs

What is the job?

Instalabs is on the hunt for a Customer Operations wizard to join our team and be an important part of our exciting, rapidly growing FinTech business in the decentralised finance space!

This is a varied role in a growing team, with the primary function to ensure our business remains compliant against our regulatory requirements, specifically in Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) regulations. Your main duties will include reviewing KYC and AML applications, communicating with our users, the preparation and processing of due diligence and general administration. As a technology company we use a variety of technologies for this as well as on-chain analytics and identify verification software to help with our analysis.

What will you be doing?

• As part of the team, analyse and act on KYC and AML information provided by our users, in order to use our platforms in a compliant manner
• Escalate high risk information to management and compliance, in order to make decisions.
• Carry out testing against KYC and AML information we hold, to ensure that systems and processes are working as required.
• Liaising with users when more information is required, to ensure accurate decisioning is made.
• Carrying out testing of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) collected via the Company’s electronic identity verification suppliers
• Assessing the CDD collected for compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements and where appropriate, escalate non-compliant cases
• Reviewing and evaluating sanctions and PEP checks and discounting or escalating, as appropriate
• Carrying out transaction monitoring in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures
• Assist with carrying out manual CDD collection and assessment, where necessary
• Assist with updating and monitoring centralised databases
• Occasional weekend support when required - typically for releases
• Ensuring compliance with the Company’s internal policies & procedures, and also relevant legislation and regulatory requirements

What do you need?

• Ideally, you will have experience of working in an Anti-Money Laundering or Client Due Diligence environment - we are happy to be flexible with this if you are bright and enthusiastic about getting involved in a career in compliance at the leading edge of decentralised finance
• Knowledge of or interest in DeFi and Cryptocurrency
• Exceptional organisational & communication skills
• Be able to exercise discretion and confidentiality at all times
• A flexible approach to work, including being prepared to get your ‘hands dirty’
• Desire to gain technical knowledge and a wide range of experience
