PUM

PUM is a Dutch NGO headquartered in The Hague, founded in 1978 by the confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW) and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For over 45 years, PUM has been empowering ambitious entrepreneurs in developing countries and emerging markets to build a structurally better future for their communities: socially, ecologically and economically.

With a network of 1,200 skilled voluntary experts, PUM collaborates with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and business support organisations across 30 countries worldwide. The organisation works through 12 programme areas covering both food-related sectors (animal husbandry, horticulture, food processing, field crops and beekeeping, beverage processing) and non-food sectors (construction and manufacturing, environment, healthcare, hospitality and tourism, ICT and incubators, textiles and handicrafts, and associations and education). PUM provides advice on location, remote guidance, seminars, and webinars, with additional funding support available through the Hans Blankert Fund for entrepreneurs requiring financial assistance to implement improvements.
