Pride Foundation

Pride Foundation is the only LGBTQ+ community foundation in the Northwest, providing grants, scholarships, and advocacy to advance equity and justice for LGBTQ+ people across Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington since 1985.

About Pride Foundation

In 1985, during the height of the HIV & AIDS crisis, a small but courageous group of people in Seattle came together to create a source of light and hope during a period of profound darkness. These individuals, many of whom were directly impacted by the epidemic, pooled their resources to establish what would become Pride Foundation - the only LGBTQ+ community foundation serving the Northwest region.

Today, Pride Foundation fuels transformational movements to advance equity and justice for LGBTQ+ people in all communities across Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. With more than $70 million invested in transformative community change since its founding, the organization remains committed to building a better, safer, and more equitable world where every person can live safely, openly, and genuinely in all the places they call home.

The foundation centers racial equity in all its work, recognizing that the struggles for LGBTQ+ equity and racial equity are fundamentally interconnected. Through strategic grantmaking, scholarship programs, advocacy initiatives, and community engagement, Pride Foundation partners with local visionaries - from public officials to grassroots leaders - to strengthen Northwest communities and advance collective liberation.
