We are looking to fill a Scientist I, II or III - Discovery Analytical Research Automation Scientist position working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off.
Responsibilities
- Receiving and documenting samples that are submitted for screening assays
- Tracking the preparation and analysis of high volume of samples submissions per week using automation techniques and current assay guidelines
- Setup, troubleshooting, and upkeep of automation equipment used for analysis which includes Tecan liquid handling robots and Agilent UPLC's
- Preparing samples for UPLC analysis using automation tools
- Data processing and interpretation
- Calibration, repair, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Execution of sample testing and analysis within specified time frames.
- Routine physical testing of samples to support formulation development
- Gravimetric and volumetric sample preparation and dilution. (Must be able to do algebra) (unit analysis)
- Proper balance techniques, volumetric
Qualifications - B.S./M.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology or similar life sciences
- Scientist 1 - B.S. with 0-1 years of relevant experience
- Scientist 2 - B.S. with 1-2 years of relevant experience or M.S. with no experience
- Scientist 3 - B.S. with 3-5 years of relevant experience or M.S. with 1-2 years of relevant experience
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience in modern liquid chromatography (Agilent UPLC)
- Experience preparing and analyzing samples for stability or solubility determination
- Microsoft office products, Excel
- Ability to multi-task and be self-motivated
- Ability to perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision
Desired Skills and Experience
- Excel Macro Programming
- XRPD, DSC and other characterization techniques
- Tecan Liquid Handling Robots
