OutsourcedIn is partnering with an Australian joinery business to hire an experienced Joinery Designer / Draftsperson with strong PYTHA 3D CAD drafting experience.
This role supports residential and commercial joinery projects including kitchens, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and custom cabinetry, producing accurate shop drawings and production-ready documentation.
The ideal candidate has proven experience within the Australian joinery industry and strong knowledge of cabinetry construction and manufacturing processes.
About the Role
You will be responsible for producing detailed joinery drawings, 3D models, and manufacturing documentation while working closely with project managers, installers, and production teams.
This role requires strong technical accuracy and understanding of joinery production workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Joinery Drafting & Design
Produce detailed joinery shop drawings using PYTHA 3D CAD
Create 3D joinery models and layouts for project visualisation
Prepare production drawings ready for manufacturing
Interpret architectural drawings and design specifications
Cabinetry Design
Design cabinetry for kitchens, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and custom joinery
Produce layouts for residential and commercial interior fit-outs
Prepare cut lists and material schedules
Project Coordination
Coordinate with project managers, installers, and production teams
Ensure drawings meet Australian joinery standards
Maintain accuracy and compliance across project documentation
Technical Skills
Strong PYTHA 3D CAD drafting experience
Joinery shop drawing preparation
Understanding of cabinet construction methods
Knowledge of hardware systems (Blum, Hettich, Hafele, etc.)
Ability to interpret architectural drawings and specifications
Strong detailing and manufacturing awareness
Mandatory Requirements
5+ years joinery drafting or design experience
Australian joinery industry experience (ESSENTIAL)
Strong proficiency using PYTHA software
Experience preparing manufacturing drawings for joinery production
Highly Regarded
Kitchen design experience
Residential interior fit-out projects
Commercial joinery project exposure
Experience supporting Australian cabinet makers or builders
