VP, Strategic Client Partnerships

Job Summary

Our VP, Strategic Client Partnerships is a senior, strategic, and group-wide role. With their ability to create a positive commercial environment for partnership, they are accountable for driving accelerated growth on a small number of priority client company accounts across our Centers of Excellence (COEs).

Our VP, Strategic Client Partnerships has a hunger and drive for new business development (NBD); they have the skills and experience necessary to build senior client partnerships and the ability to advocate for OPEN Health and its full-service offering confidently and passionately. They also promote and stand behind OPEN Health’s values, inspiring colleagues from across the organization to unite to drive success.

Key performance indicators will include NBD pipeline generation and NBD wins.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Gaining deep insight into client company ethos, assets, pipeline, structure, approach, terminology, and needs, along with the commercial position of OPEN Health across our Centers of Excellence
    • Sharing such insights with client-facing teams in the COEs; ensuring they are utilized for maximum NBD and organic growth of existing client programs of work
    • Strategically planning OPEN Health’s growth in your client accounts. Sharing and discussing plans internally and having them continually evolve in response to external and internal factors
    • Focusing on driving growth where revenue and profit opportunities are greatest, especially on promising therapy areas and assets, in priority regions and service areas, and maximizing the opportunity to cross-sell from one COE to another
  • Delivering the growth plan in collaboration with colleagues, using your insights and relationships to create an environment where OPEN Health can win at scale, including:
    • Positioning our capabilities clearly and appropriately with the client, driving widespread client awareness of OPEN Health
    • Demonstrating our company’s expertise and our commitment to client partnership by leading added-value activities such as thought leadership, sharing innovation and ideas, training and strategic support, and collaboration around ESG targets; leverage these activities to drive new business opportunities as appropriat
      • Ensuring profitable client opportunity is accessible to all COEs by having:
        • MSAs in place and contract requirements met
        • OPEN Health on appropriate preferred supplier lists (PSLs) across all key geographical regions and that these are maximized
        • An innovative commercial approach, including pricing strategy, to drive accelerated and profitable growth
  • Accessing new client prospects and driving NBD opportunity generation in collaboration with colleagues across OPEN Health
    • Building strong, senior-level client partnerships across leaders, senior budget holders and procurement
    • Maximizing your own and other OPEN Health relationships to generate NBD leads, and cultivating inbound opportunities
    • Unlocking opportunities to cross-sell between our COEs
  • Driving opportunities to win business outside of formal RFP/pitch processes
  • Triaging opportunities quickly to the best team(s) and providing high-level, strategic oversight and support to ensure a win

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in healthcare environment at a scientific communications agency, strategic consultancy, HEOR/market access consultancy (or similar), or pharmaceutical company, with deep insight into the needs of OPEN Health’s clients
  • 2+ years’ experience in sales, business development, or account management/consultancy, or in a relevant client company role
  • Documented success in building an organic network, cultivating new business prospects and hitting financial targets in the healthcare sector
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and partnership skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Professional and confident approach with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills and an outstanding attention to detail including presentation development and delivery
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining a “can-do” attitude and a strong sense of ownership, pride and accountability
  • Effective organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset; ability to thinking critically and problem solve
  • Strong negotiation skills; ability to lead commercial negotiation with clients at a senior level, driving to a positive outcome for both parties while maintaining strong relationships
  • Inspirational leadership skills and proven business acumen that leads to business expansion
  • Ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing challenges, issues, and priorities with the ability to delegate, problem solve, and set clear expectations
  • Enthusiastic, team player, self-motivated attitude and demeanor
  • Proficient in MS365 including Word, Excel, Power Point, Excel, Outlook and Teams

Travel Requirements

30% potential travel, including internationally
