Senior Project Manager

Job Summary

Our Senior Project Managers are directly responsible for developing and driving the team’s project plans, while meeting and exceeding the goals for a portfolio of medical education projects. They work directly with project coordinators and project/account managers taking an active role from project inception to completion. They provide accurate and proactive support for all project-related activities and deliverables including establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with peers, staff, suppliers, clients, healthcare professionals (HCPs), and other relevant groups associated with the overall project delivery.

Senior Project Manager have a natural ability to lead and oversee a team. They drive the development, execution, and delivery of all projects for accounts they support in a collaborative fashion. They have a strong attention to detail, are super organized and love tracking details.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Overseeing 10-12 concurrent projects on average, depending on the scope
  • Supporting multiple accounts, varying in size and scope but ensuring workload is sustainable
  • Assuming responsibility for overall scope of each project, developing project plans, timelines and budgets in conjunction with project team
  • Driving and delivering high-quality projects according to client needs and expectations while following all SOPs
  • Anticipating and proactively addressing client needs along with account director to ensure complete client satisfaction
  • Working collaboratively with account, project, scientific and editorial teams and vendors to coordinate resources to ensure appropriate support and communication, including but not limited to:
    • the creation of long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
    • delegating project tasks to team members best positioned to complete them while ensuring timely and successful completion
    • serving as a point of contact for teams when shared services are in play to ensure team actions remain in synergy
    • overseeing the develop and maintenance of status reports for internal and client use
    • ensuring version and quality control of all projects from initiation to execution, maintaining the standards expected
    • adjusting schedules and targets on projects as scope of work or financing for the project change
    • fostering integration, collaboration, and teamwork among team members
    • deploying Open Health resources to best balance overall business objectives of the organization
    • proactively and consistently making connections across projects/deliverables and making recommendations for project efficiencies and improvement
  • Independently reconciling projects in a timely manner with minimal supervision and ensures all project financials are completed in scope and on time
  • Supporting account/project team with the development of proposals/budgets to implement creative educational programs
  • Working with project/account director with recruitment efforts including training and developing team members
  • Managing and mentoring direct reports, as needed
  • Assisting with meeting agenda development and review/summary of meeting highlights

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, biology, life sciences, or related field
  • 3-5 years of professional education project types, including comprehensive knowledge of professional education project types
  • Ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing challenges, issues, and priorities with the ability to delegate and set clear expectations
  • Strong knowledge of MS365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
  • Experience working in project management programs such as Smart Sheet, Veeva, Workfront a plus!
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team structure
  • Aptitude for the English language and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adept problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Detail-oriented, articulate, creative, optimistic and works easily with a variety of personalities and styles
  • Ability to make effective decisions when presented with multiple options
  • Understanding of FDA, AMA, PhRMA guidelines and state regulations as they apply to medical communication projects

Travel Requirements

Very minimal travel required for this role.
