Scope
The Platform Engineer II is a technical role within Newfire Global Partners supporting Care Lumen’s Platform Engineering team. This individual is responsible for building, configuring, and operating Care Lumen’s internal developer platform and software delivery ecosystem.
This role focuses on enabling and standardizing software delivery practices across the enterprise using Harness and related platform tooling, including SCM, CI, CD, SCS, AR, STO, SAST/SCA, IDP, SEI, and FME.
Partnering with development, security, and infrastructure teams, the Platform Engineer ensures platform consistency, security, governance, and scalability across Care Lumen’s microservices architecture while improving developer experience and automation maturity.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Harness.
  • Configure and manage Harness modules (CI, CD, AR, SCS, STO, IDP, SEI, FME).
  • Establish platform standards, templates, and golden paths.
  • Integrate security testing and supply chain security controls into pipelines.
  • Support artifact management and versioning strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to onboard applications to standardized CI/CD frameworks.
  • Monitor platform health and performance using engineering intelligence tools.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation and reliability.
  • Document platform architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for platform-related issues.

What’s Required

  • 4+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms (Harness preferred).
  • Experience integrating SAST/SCA and security scanning tools into pipelines.
  • Experience supporting cloud-native platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Experience working with microservices architectures.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
What’s Preferred
  • Experience operating Harness modules across multiple teams.
  • Experience building or supporting an Internal Developer Platform (IDP).
  • Experience in healthcare IT or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with platform engi
