Netflix is seeking a Software Engineer to enhance its video player with new features, improve streaming quality, and reach millions of users. The team focuses on playback functionality for both web and TV platforms, managing everything from client setup to streaming to various content delivery methods. The engineer will focus on A/B testing, data analysis, and collaboration with other cross-functional teams to innovate and improve the user experience.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of software development experience with streaming media playback
  • Proficient in Typescript and Node.js
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with A/B testing
  • Knowledge of adaptive streaming technologies (MPEG DASH, HTML5 MSE, EME)
  • Experience shipping software at scale (a plus)
  • Experience developing software on SmartTV’s, SetTop boxes or Streaming sticks (a plus)
