We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
The Member Experience Core Systems (MECS) organization is the hub for how over 300 million members find content on Netflix, responsible for the extensive suite of Core Systems that drive personalization, search, and discovery across the entire platform, from user sign-in through to content choice.
Our work involves building foundational platforms and ML-driven recommendation engines, developing systems to support evolving content types like live events, podcasts, and advertising, and providing essential toolings for studio partners to promote content, alongside comprehensive debugging and health tools to accelerate engineering velocity.
The nature of this role is a challenging blend of operating high-scale distributed systems, implementing advanced ML-driven personalization, and collaborating closely with our Product and UI teams. We are looking for a highly capable full-stack engineer to develop tools that improve the developer experience and empower our studio partners to innovate broadly and efficiently.
Snapshot of projects you may work on:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement debugging tools for their services.
- Enhance our user interfaces to provide intuitive and seamless experiences for engineers, incorporating feedback and best practices to improve usability and adoption.
- Incorporate GenAI tools to enhance developer productivity by automating repetitive tasks.
We would love to work with you if:
- You have strong expertise with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React/Typescript).
- You have experience with at least one backend language/framework (e.g. Java/Python/Go).
- You have experience building and consuming RESTful APIs (GraphQL is a plus).
- You proactively communicate with cross-functional (such as product and UX) teams to drive projects.
- You have a BS/MS in Computer Science, Applied Math, Engineering, or a related field.
- You have experience working with teams distributed across multiple time zones.
It would be nice if:
- You have experience with the latest GenAI stack (LLMs, RAG, Agents/Tools)
- You have experience building distributed backend systems.
- You have experience building enterprise level tools.
