The Proposal Specialist role is critical to the client acquisition and retention efforts of Navitus Health Solutions. This position works cross-functionally at a variety of levels to maximize sales through the timely creation and management of competitive responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other sales related documents for a variety of audiences. The Proposal Specialist ensures agreed upon strategies are incorporated into persuasive, compelling, and customer-focused proposals. This position ensures the timely completion of a project in accordance with defined project management processes and quality standards. The Proposal Specialist reports to the Supervisor, Sales Support and MarCom and interfaces with various individuals throughout the organization. This position requires strong project and time management skills and attention to detail.

How do I make an impact on my team?

  • In conjunction with the Proposal team, read, review, and understand RFP requirements.
  • Utilize the proposal knowledgebase to obtain response material and customize as needed.
  • Work with the Proposal team to ensure that information included in proposal is current with respect to corporate background, functional capabilities, program descriptions, etc.
  • Ensure that response document is built and formatted in a manner that adheres to both response requirements and Navitus marketing and branding guidelines.
  • Ensure a smooth flow of information and consistent messaging in proposals by proofing, editing, and rewriting all sections of the proposal as required.
  • Work with Sales, Marketing Communications, and other staff to identify themes, discriminators, and capture strategies.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to develop new proposal content and incorporate into the proposal responses to include illustrations and other graphical elements.
  • Work with Proposal team to ensure that written answers coordinate with the objectives outlined in the RFP.
  • Support the development of compelling marketing content to drive company and brand awareness through various media.
  • Work with Sales and the Proposal team to produce (i.e., copy, assembly) presentations for finalist meetings and related documents such as exhibits, etc., as needed to support the sales process.
  • Perform production (i.e., copy, assemble) of proposal responses to meet client-mandated requirements on final deliverables.

What our team expects from you?

  • A minimum of a bachelors degree, preferably in English, Journalism or a Communications-related field, or equivalent related experience required.
  • Previous experience in proposal development, preferably in the health care and/or prescription benefit management fields strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding editing and proofreading skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft Word, including creating and using styles and templates
  • Proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint, experience with graphic design software a plus
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
  • The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
