Job Location: Remote (Northern Virginia). Be available to periodically support meetings at HQ DLA (Fort Belvoir, VA) or other places of performance in the National Capital Region.
Overview:
Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a Database Administrator – Jr. for a potential opportunity supporting all activities related to the administration of computerized databases. Support quality control and auditing databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, create, and maintain databases in a client/server environment. Apply knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end /back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL). Perform database programming and support systems design. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves):
- Two (2) years of progressive experience of database query languages such as Oracle, PL SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access.
- Two (2) years of hands-on experience and expertise in Relational Database Management Systems.
- Experience shall also include the ability to work on various operating systems and additional programming languages. Has experience in at least two projects.
- Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
- DoD Approved 8570 / 8140 IAT Level II: Baseline Certification: OCP 12c (or higher), OCI Foundations 2020 (or higher), OCP WebLogic 11g (or higher); AWS CCP, OCI Foundations 2020 (or higher), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, MCSE: WS2016, MCSA: WS2016, RHCE, or RHCSA
Required Experience: Performing the following Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Support the designs, implementation, and maintenance of complex databases concerning JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
