Senior QA Engineer

mx51 is a payments-as-a-service solution for banks, non-bank acquirers, and other merchant service providers. We are building a payment platform that allows merchants to accept payments in-store, in-app and online, whilst consolidating all their data on a real-time business management dashboard.

As a Senior QA Engineer at mx51, you'll ensure our platform meets the exacting standards of Australia's leading financial institutions. Working closely with our Engineering team, you'll drive quality initiatives and shape the reliability of critical payment solutions.

We're seeking a versatile Senior QA Engineer to support delivery of our payment products through comprehensive functional testing while driving automation innovation. You'll work across mx51's diverse product range - from Android applications and web apps to integration solutions with third-party Point-of-Sales (POS) systems.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and maintaining comprehensive test documentation - Create, execute and maintain test cases, test plans, test scripts and QA documentation to ensure thorough testing of all products and systems
• Building and enhancing automation capabilities - Develop, execute and maintain automation frameworks and scripts to drive testing efficiency and innovation
• Conducting testing - Perform thorough functional, regression and exploratory testing across mx51's product range, from Android applications to POS integration solutions
• Managing defect lifecycle - Identify, document and communicate bugs effectively to development and product teams
• Overseeing third-party integrations - Manage testing and certification processes for third-party POS products and systems
• Driving cross-functional collaboration - Work closely with internal development and product teams to identify potential risks, limitations and improvement opportunities

About You

• Full-stack testing capabilities - Experience testing both web-based and desktop applications, with strong skills in test planning and managing end-to-end test execution
• Automation and manual testing expertise - Proficient in automated testing frameworks such as Playwright and comprehensive manual testing approaches
• Technical testing expertise - Proficient in API testing using tools such as Postman, with ability to debug and troubleshoot issues independently via logs
• Integration testing experience - Hands-on experience testing third-party payment integrations
• Communication excellence - Strong written and verbal communication skills when interacting with team members and stakeholders across the business
• Problem-solving mindset - Open-minded, curious approach with a 'seek to understand' mentality when tackling technical and process challenges
• Quality-focused expertise - Passionate about software quality assurance with a drive to continuously improve testing practices and methodologies
• Adaptability - Quick to adapt to changes within the business environment and positively champion these changes to your team
