About the role
We're recruiting a talented Design Lead, to lead our Brand Marketing creative studio on a 12 month contract. This is a vital role in developing visually compelling design concepts that align with our brand's identity.
Your curiosity and creativity will drive the exploration of concepts and technologies, allowing you to find fresh solutions to complex design challenges. Additionally, you will stay up to date with industry creative and design trends. Lead and mentor a team of talented designers and copywriter, and play a crucial part in growing and maintaining Moonpig’s design vision and quality of output.

Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Design Leadership: Take the lead in crafting and implementing design and development strategies, blending hands-on support with subject matter expertise to add value and foster knowledge sharing
- Performance & Delivery: Ensure projects are delivered on time, and work collaboratively with wider Marketing team, other key stakeholders across the business and support post campaign reviews to optimise and improve future creative
- Team Leadership & Engagement: Guide, coach and inspire a dedicated team of designers and 1x copywriter, supporting their development and driving them to achieve company objectives
- Brand Guidelines & Design Standards: Infuse customer-centric and excellent design standards throughout Moonpig within the remit of the Brand Guidelines
- Communication & Project Leadership: Implement and maintain suitable and flexible processes for internal and external communication within your area of responsibility, for on time and on budget delivery
- Cost Management: Take accountability for departmental cost management, including tracking costs of freelance support and photography budgets
About you:
- proven experience in graphic and digital design within brand marketing
- experience working and leading teams at a creative agency or in-house
- knowledge of design principles, typography, layout, and colour theory, expertly blending these elements to create captivating designs.
- Experienced with Adobe Suite (particularly After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
- Experience with managing and leading a small team of talented creatives, with ability to deliver inspiring creative solutions
- Email and performance marketing channel expertise
- outstanding portfolio of published work spanning different channels, from print to digital, including advertising, branding, motion and landing pages
- the ability to think creatively, present ideas, and articulate the thinking behind them
