Market Researcher - Freelancer

We are seeking an experienced Market Researcher on a short-term contract basis for a market sizing project. The ideal candidate will have a background in business or related field and a data-driven and analytical approach. Experience doing market sizing for software companies or EdTech is an asset.

Candidates can be based anywhere in Europe or the APAC region.

Estimated time for this project is 2.5 weeks full-time, up to a maximum of 4 weeks part time. Final deliverables include a market sizing report, and all raw data.

Requirements

The purpose of the project is to estimate the size of the market, and determine:

• The providers creating and selling 3 distinct types of software components, compatible with our product, including number, revenue and their potential market size.
• The providers creating free software components, compatible with our product. Number, potential revenue and their potential market size.
• The providers offering software components within our industry, but NOT compatible with our product. Number, revenue and their potential market size.

The output of this project would be to produce different metrics that help us understand and predict the behaviour of the ecosystem. For this, several types of metrics would provide value:

• Market size of the providers in USD, plus its structure in terms of concentration, market dominance, etc.
• User base size
• Structure of the potential providers: size, tendency to ascribe to partner programs, dependency on marketplaces for promotion, inter dependencies, company affiliation, company shareholders structure and mission, geographical location, ability to support a decentralised user base.

You will have access to some available data on our current users and software components compatible with our product, which will need to be supplemented with rigorous online research.
