So much of what makes Mercury special is the feeling we leave our customers with. Indeed, our customers have told us that the experience of using Mercury for the first time can feel magical. But as a fintech building software for founders and finance teams, this experience is primarily digital. Events and sponsorships give us an opportunity to bring that feeling to the real world, to build the relationships and deliver the value that creates lasting fans.

We’re looking for a Sr. Manager of Events to create and execute an event marketing strategy for our Expansion audience of finance, ecommerce, and bookkeeping leaders. This person will become the expert in what events and conferences this audience shows up to, and execute compelling experiences for them. The ideal candidate has worked across brand and revenue organizations and someone who feels confident reporting on event metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and execute an events and sponsorships strategy for Mercury’s Expansion audience
  • Become a trusted partner for members of the Partnerships and Sales organization who focus on finance, ecommerce and bookkeeping leaders.
  • Negotiate and execute roughly 10 conference sponsorships/year, serve as the point of contact for the conference host, production teams, and the internal point of contact for Mercury staff
  • As it lends to your strategy, plan and organize smaller events that attract Expansion audience. These could include but are not limited to panels, dinners, and assessing webinar opportunities
  • Proactively report on metrics for each event
  • As needed, own other Tier 3 events that are prioritized by Brand

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years experience in brand/corporate events and sponsorships
  • Experience planning events with a goal of new audience acquisition
  • Experience working with revenue teams from BD, Sales, Partnerships and aligning their goals with Marketing goals
  • Experience both with conference sponsorships and hosting brand events.
  • Familiarity with Splash, Luma, Asana, Figma, and Marketo preferred
  • Ability to thrive and iterate in a fast-paced environment with autonomy
